2019 marked the beginning of an exciting chapter in the family’s business journey. With Jim wanting to retire, he went to Paul his son with an offer to take over the business. Despite Paul’s tenure at Main Building Supply in Rogue River Oregon, it didn’t take him long to accept the offer to continue the STAR legacy, showcasing his readiness for the responsibilities of business ownership.
Paul’s decade-long experience at Main building Supply provided him with a solid foundation, equipping him with the skills and knowledge necessary to thrive in his new role as the owner of STAR Automotive.
As of January 2023, Paul has assumed full responsibility as the owner of STAR Automotive, signaling a new era for the business. The initial goal of a five-year succession plan was completed in just a four-year timeline due to the successful coaching and progress. Which highlights Paul’s dedication and commitment to taking over the reins of the family business. Seeking guidance from various sources, including Jim and coaches from the automotive industry and the SBDC (Small Business Development Center) course offered through Southern Oregon University, demonstrated Paul’s proactive approach to learning and development.
His focus on nurturing a positive culture and providing exceptional service reflects his commitment to serving both clients and the community.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and community members will be vital for the continued success of STAR Automotive under Paul’s leadership. His dedication to providing the best service aligns perfectly with the values that have been the cornerstone of the business.
Overall, Paul’s journey from a floor manager to a business owner is a testament to his determination, vision and commitment to carrying on the family legacy. With his goals in place, STAR Automotive is well-positioned for continued growth and success in serving the community for years to come.
